Orphans Program...

Today we went to the Christmas orphans program... Speaking of Christmas, does it feel like Christmas to y'all?? I have a hard time believing that it's even December... Anyhoo!
We got there, set up then Alison and I helped make the food...!!  And since it's all done over fire and fire means smoke and smoke means teary eyes, I have had a very emotional day!! :) The interesting thing is, is that when my eyes are running and I say something about the smoke making me cry, the cooks thought that was the funniest thing that they had heard all day!!! Btw, almost everything here is funny! The Kenyians laugh over almost everything...!!! I love these people...

Very African here, all cooking is done over the outdoor fire! :) That is chapatis frying there... Chapati is a delicous staple here!! Flat thin bread-like yumminess!!! :) As you maybe can tell, I love breads and such..!! :)

Goodness!!! They must have coo-coo for lunch. And it MUST be fresh!!! Because of the lack of refridgeration... So the long and short of it. It was fresh, very fresh, just a little too fresh for most of the Rosenberry clan... :)

Some interested individuals... The natives thought it humerous that the wazungus were watching. Like seriously, chicken butchering is just an everyday thing that has to be done whether they like it or not...!! :/

Then, of course, the coo-coo needs to be precooked... Over an open fire, bring it on!!! :)

The childrens programs! Wow!! American kids have something to learn from the kids here... The singing here is beautiful, worshipful and loud...:) They are ok with singing really loud and messing up, unlike some of us...!! :/

Handing out backpacks to the children! :) Not sure what the Mennonite kid was sad about...?! :)
And the lollipops... Couldn't forget them!! Honestly, those lollipops are better then American ones...! :)

The food line for lunch. We feed around 160 orphans plus their guardians...

For these children, this is the best they have ate all year... They eat insane amounts too... I saw 6 year olds eat more than my brother could. And that is a lot!!! :)

Enjoying his ugali and Fanta.

Full and happy...!!! The smiles here are priceless... I'm gonna miss those like crazy...
