Around here there is a honking horn launguage... I'm learning that language and I'm wondering if that counts for credits...?!! :) We buy milk in bags... There is a very small amount in each bag and when we go to Nakumatt to buy it, it is sitting on the shelf right next to the bread. Meaning that its not nessasary to put it in the fridge, it's that processed...!! :/
This plant... I have nooo clue whats its name is, tho i love it..!! :) It is tall as you can see. (i couldn't get Cody to smile naturally so Eric took over the job and he got the job done...!!:)
This very unique plant...(thats why i like it cause we have this one thing in common...!!:) and those hooky thingys.. They are very sharp. I am a living witness. I have been brutally hurt by them. I just wanted to see how sharp they were, well, they were a bit sharper than anticipated...
Most of the Africans here don't get sarcasm, which is unfortunate cause I'm slightly sarcastic...:) So my sarcasm level is a little low right now. And that is very unfortunate...:/
Some of the terminology around here...
'Next Sunday I'm gonna be lost.' I won't be here on Sunday.
'You are free.' You are dismissed.
'You may alight.' You may get out.
'The week coming.' This coming week.
Darla, Mom and I went shopping... And I got my tuk-tuk ride!! whoo hoo!!!! That was one amazing ride!! :) And very much of an African experience...
Shopping in the Muslim fabric shops... WOW!!! I could have spent hours in there!!! It was a really dingy, dumpy place, but they have some really amazing material in there...!! :) I think the Muslims were glad for our business..!! :) if that tells you anything...;)
This adorable child in one of the shops...!!! I want to take her home!!!
Then we went back to the compound and I got some wash done, with the wringer washer, thenwe went down to the fish shacks by Lake Victoria... And, mind you, I HATE fish.. But this fish, wow!!! thats some scrumily yummily fish...!! :)
Served with ugali...
...and chips(frys)!! :)
And, oh yes, Lake Victoria is a free car wash. Just pull in and go for it...!!! :)
This baby at the fish shack...so sweet and fat!!!:) And, believe it or not, the Africans love the white babies as much as we love the black ones...!! :)
Thank you all for your prayers... It is hard to beleive that in a week we will be back in America... -tara
